WEO has developed a new series of universal L-band satellite receiver antennas, that will have:
They are to be used for Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), which includes GPS (Global Positioning System), GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou, and other satellite communication systems within the 1.1 and 2.0 GHz frequency range. There are two versions: a passive version without active components for both transmit and receive, and an active version with amplifiers for receive only.
The antennas are disk-shaped, suitable for conformal low-profile mounting on various platforms.
The detailed specifications are to be firmed up based on inputs from receiver manufacturers and end users. This product line is available at present only in bulk quantities on a custom-design basis.
Model BEAMFORM-AZ-1-2.7GHZ is one of a series of smart antennas with beam forming capability in the azimuth plane with an operating bandwidth of 1–2.7 GHz. They have a gain between 5 and 15 dBi depending on the particular model, with steerable beams covering the entire 360° in the azimuth plane. The antennas are disk-shaped and low-profile, suitable for mounting on the top or bottom surface of a platform.
The full system has a beam-steering computer and control circuits, which steer the beam adaptively. The software for beam steering is implemented according to customer needs. This product line is available at present only in bulk quantities on a custom-design basis.
The UNIV-OMNI-0.8-10.3GHZ antenna, covering 0.8–10.3 GHz, is the first of a series of universal omnidirectional antennas. It has radiation pattern and polarization similar to those of a discone (or conical monopole) antenna mounted on a ground plane. It is used like an ultra-wideband discone antenna in performance but is shaped like a disk and thus low-profile and suitable for mounting on the top or bottom surface of a platform.
This product line is available at present only in bulk quantities on a custom-design basis. The customer can specify the range of frequencies, anywhere from 100 MHz up to 20 GHz or more, with a bandwidth of 10:1 or more. The customer also can specify any refinements on the form factor, weight, and mechanical and other specifications.
WEO has developed a number of body-wearable antennas under contracts from the U.S. Army. WEO's broadband omnidirectional helmet antenna is fitted inside a standard Kevlar helmet, and provides stable omnidirectional communications over a wide frequency range regardless of the soldier's body movement and orientation. The antenna is lightweight, and can be retrofit into a standard helmet with no added physical or RF hazard to the wearer. The U.S. Army has conducted both laboratory and field tests on this helmet antenna, and as a result of these successful tests, Army R&D personnel have promoted the antenna to the Army at large. A portion of their presentation material is made available here with their permission.
This product line is available at present only in bulk quantities on a custom-design basis. Some models in this product line are subject to U.S. export control.
